Train from Lanzhou to Lhasa

What do you need to know before train travel from China to Tibet?

1) Before entering Tibet, you need to apply for a Tibet entry permit through a local Tibet travel agency. If you take a train from cities in China except for Chongqing, Xi’an or Lanzhou, you need a copy of Tibet entry permit to broad the train. Otherwise, if you take a train to Tibet from Chongqing, Xi’an or Lanzhou, you need to the original Tibet entry permit. 2) Because of the supply of oxygen in the Tibet train, smoking is prohibited on the train.

3) According to China’s railway policy, passengers need to cancel or replace Tibet train tickets on their own. Train tickets to Tibet can’t be changed or canceled online. So please check the travel date, the departure time and your name and passport number carefully before the reservation.
